Orana Park.

This Term is an exciting one for Room 3. We have moved into a new learning environment as our classroom is getting built!
We have moved into the old library and have been working collaboratively with Room 4.
Our  topic focus this term is on Animals, minerals and vegetables.

Last week the children were lucky enough to see so many animals at Orana Park. We learnt all about the different types of animals and their habitat.

These are some of the things we learnt.
Cheetahs are the fastest land animals on earth! They are mammals which means they are warm blooded just like us. When they are running they use their tails to steer.

Giraffes are the tallest animals. They have a light pink/purple tongue, which means it has more protection from the sun.
We really enjoyed being able to feed them.

In this photo the children are holding the rhinos  horn. This horn is made out of the same material as our fingernails and hair (Keratin).
